After 22 years, Dan Van Donselaar has resigned from his position as Manager of the Knoxville Airport and is working with a local aviation company to purchase Knoxville Aviation.
The resignation will be effective March 1, 2023, as he has accepted a new position with a private aviation company. He will assist the new owners of Knoxville Aviation in the transition of customers and maintenance of current services, through the next year in a part-time role.
Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News, “I’m resigning from the management part of the airport and the FBO part of it. To be able to move on to a different company that’s going to allow me to spend more time with my wife and kids.”
The Knoxville Airport Commission has intentions of naming a new manager and FBO, Fixed Base Operator, by January 14, 2023. The Van Donselaar family will be staying in Knoxville.
