Making the transition from player to coach, Alex Griggs has been named the new assistant coach for the Central College men’s and women’s tennis program.
A four-year member of the Dutch women’s program, Griggs is graduating from Central at semester with a degree in business management and a minor in accounting. She won 16 career singles matches and 23 career doubles matches and served as a team captain this past fall season. The four-time varsity letterwinner helped the Dutch to a second-place finish in 2021, its best finish since 2003. A Knoxville native, Griggs will start her new role with the programs in January.
The Dutch men start their spring season on Saturday, January 28th at 5 p.m. in Rochester, Minnesota against Bethel University. The women return to competition on Friday, March 3rd with a home match against Millikin University at 4 p.m.
