The inaugural Special Olympics Iowa Hall of Fame class was inducted Thursday, including retired Warren County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Randy Spurr. Spurr was selected for the honor after decades of work with special olympics in south central Iowa, including the annual Warren County Polar Plunge since 2007, the Plane Pull, the Norwalk Dodgeball Tournament, and the Law Enforcement Torch Run in addition to many other fundraisers.
