The Norwalk and Pella bowling teams split a dual at Air Lanes Bowling Center in Des Moines on Saturday. Norwalk won the girls meet 2049-1923 and Pella won the boys meet 2616-2550 courtesy of an 890-796 advantage in Baker games.
Julia Palen led the Norwalk girls with a high game score of 179 and a two-game set of 337, followed by Ellery Racz with a 298 and Kate Desmond 278. The Warrior girls improved to 3-2 on the season.
The Pella girls (2-4) were led by Taylor Walker’s 162 game and 308 series. Mallory Westerkamp bowled a 283 series and Anna DeNooy added a 269.
Pella’s Carter Failor led all bowlers Saturday with a two-game set of 406 and a top game of 235 as the Dutch boys improved to 5-1. Additional series scores for Pella included Alex Mitchel’s 372 (210 high game) and Anderson Schirm’s 337.
The Norwalk boys, now 2-3, were paced by Jaxson Swift’s two-game series of 375 and Michael Wetzel’s 364. Andrew Winfrey, Tyler Peterson and Emerson Fels were closed behind, all with totals between 342 and 333. Wetzel’s 215 and Swift’s 205 marked the team’s high individual games.
