The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday evening, which included a discussion regarding funding the Indianola Chamber of Commerce and staying in the Catch Des Moines tourism organization. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the council had a good discussion about the costs and benefits Indianola needs from both organizations.

“We recognize the importance of being a part of the Des Moines metro and supporting the Des Moines metro, and ensuring that our events here from The Classic to the Warren County Fair and everything in between is represented. But at the same time we want to be sure that we are supporting local efforts to try and bring greater attention from economic development and visitor tourism by better supporting our local chamber of commerce.”

The board decided to stay in the Catch Des Moines organization and look for funding for the Indianola Chamber. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
