Both the Central College women’s and men’s soccer teams are going back across the pond for European excursions over spring break in March.
The women’s team is going to back the Netherlands and Germany for the fourth time since 2012. Coach Mike Kobylinski previously took the team there in 2012, 2015 and 2019.
Coach Garry Laidlaw is going back to his native England for the second time after making an initial trip in 2019. The men’s team also went to the Netherlands in 2015.
Both teams will get an extra 10 practices in February and March to prepare for the trip. Each program will also play multiple matches against local club teams during their stay.
Additionally, the teams will attend professional matches in the country of their visit. In 2019, the women went to a men’s Bundesliga match in Germany and a women’s Eredivisie match in the Netherlands. The men’s team watched matches with Queens Park Rangers, Rotherham, Stoke, Reading, Everton and Chelsea in 2019.
A full preview and itinerary of both team’s trips will be available in February.
