Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News that his department wanted to recognize officers for all the great and wonderful things they do.
The police department announced their Officer of the Year Award as well as Officers of the Quarter.
Officer of the first quarter was Detective Joe Kimpston-Burkgren. The second quarter officer recognized was Officer Brandon Hills. The third quarter award was won by Officer Matt Boston and the fourth quarter award went to Officer Kyle Eastwood.
Chief Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Our Officer of the Year, Joe Weppler, is just a great police officer. He’s easy to talk to, he communicates well and he’s educated. Officer Weppler is one of those people who just gets it. And sometimes law enforcement is not the easiest thing to get.”
Fuller said he is proud of his staff and the work they do.
