A major goal for the City of Indianola for the last several years will be the Hillcrest Ave Project, upgrading the road to expand the industrial and residential areas to the northeast. Public Work Director Akhilesh “AP” Pal tells KNIA News Hillcrest will be safer and able to handle much more traffic.

“Hillcrest will be reconstructed from 6th to 14th street. There will be trail improvements, sidewalks along the south side, and the pavement infrastructure will have improvements along with a three-lane configuration from 6th to 14th street. Currently it is a two-lane highway, the new configuration will have an upgraded two-way turn lane in the center lane.”
