After an 0-2 start to the season, the Melcher-Dallas Boys Basketball Squad gathered a little momentum heading into the break with two wins to post a pre-Christmas 3-3 record and 1-1 in the Bluegrass Conference. Coach John Suntken tells KNIA Sports it could have been more, but things like the school getting shut down due to severe illness which called off three games in the last week of the season. Suntken says while that was disappointing he was proud of the way his players responded to the adversity.

Suntken “The momentum builder was to win out the last four games. Three of the games get postponed, and we’ll take the last game, but we were ready for a game and that sucked the winds out of the sails.

The Saints won their final game before break a 46-44 over Seymour on December 20th. Melcher-Dallas will get back on the court January 3rd at Murray.
