After 22 years, Dan Van Donselaar has resigned from his position as Manager of the Knoxville Airport and is working with a local aviation company to purchase Knoxville Aviation.
Van Donselaar has seen the airport expand during his reign as manager. Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News, when he started there were about 17 airplanes on the field here and now there are 48 airplanes on the field and they are at 100 percent capacity.
Van Donslaar, “With airplanes on the waiting list of about 18 or 20 that would come here if we had more hangars to put them in.”
Building more hangars is in the future plans according to Van Donselaar.
