Assuming the Pella boys wrestling team can get much closer to full strength during the holidays, some important tests await them as the calendar turns to January.

Pella Head Coach Jay Pike is excited to see many of the schools they saw earlier in the schedule when they were limited due to illness or injury, including some of the better teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

INTERVIEW WITH BOYS WRESTLERS AFTER BILL VAN HORN TOURNAMENT:

The Dutch boys wrestlers open the 2023 portion of their season at home vs. Norwalk in a head-to-head meet on Thursday, January 5th. Other key dates include the Winterset tournament on January 7th and a triangular with Indianola and Woodward-Granger back at home on the 12th. Pella’s boys wrestlers also get to see several strong eastern Iowa teams at Solon on January 14th before hosting DCG in a boys-girls meet against both Mustangs teams on January 19th for senior night.
