State Senator Julian Garrett was re-elected in November, now serving as the senator for District 11 which includes all of Warren County and Knoxville in Marion County. Senator Garrett tells KNIA News he is focused this session, as he always has been, on creating a budget surplus.
“I’m on the appropriations committee as many listeners may remember, and I have been all during the time I’ve been in the legislature. One of my goals from the very beginning was making sure we weren’t overspending and ending up with deficits, and having to cut appropriations in the middle of the year. That’s just not responsible budgeting.”
Garrett said other priorities for him this session include looking at property tax reform, serving on the education committee, and passing the E-Verify bill.
