The Knoxville City Council met in regular session last night.
On the agenda was a resolution for approving plans, specifications, form of contract, notice to bidders and estimate of cost and ordering bids for Edwards Park improvements.
Discussion centered on getting rid of brush and the standing water in the area. Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers made the presentation and said it consists of clean-up only and the resolution was approved by the Council.
There was also a report from Knoxville City Fire Chief Cal Wyman who said there was a 7.5 percent increase on calls to his department in 2022, making his department the busiest in the county for 2022 by about 700 calls.
A proclamation was read by mayor Brian Hatch on behalf of the Knoxville Rotary Club. Hatch is pictured with the proclamation.
