Tyler Pearson is the Career and College Readiness Coordinator for the Knoxville School District.

Last year Career Week at Knoxville was held in January, this year it will be moved to March 8 and 9. The students learn about jobs and employment opportunities, not just in Marion County, but across the state and nation, according to Pearson.

Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants to expand the program this year. “We want to try and invite other districts to participate if they would like. So we thought we would reach out to surrounding schools, Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas, Twin Cedars of the world. See if they would like to come over and participate on one or both of those days.”

According to Pearson all jobs fall into six categories,1) Health Sciences, 2) Business Finance Marketing and Management. 3) Information Solutions, 4) Human Services, 5) Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and 6) Applied Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturers.
