A total of 38 acres of land has been set aside for an Industrial Park just outside the city limits of Pleasantville. Joe Mrstik, Pleasantville City Administrator, talks about the project being on schedule.

Adkins Specialized Carriers has been working with the City of Pleasantville and Marion County on the project. The Industrial Park will be off Highway 5 near Casey’s on West Pleasant before it turns into Hayes Street in the county.

Adkins is looking at a site to put his growing business at according to Mrstik. He adds that so far $1.3 million has been received in RISE Grant money. A total of $200,000 has been received from the DOT and the land has been rezoned from agricultural land to industrial.

A lift station is expected to cost around $2 million.

Mrstik says the total project cost will be around $5 million. The next step in moving forward is working on the finances with the county. When completed the project is expected to bring in around 100 jobs to Pleasantville. BId letting is expected in the spring.
