The Indianola Fire Department continued to see a record breaking number of callouts in 2022, seeing 2,897 calls for service, well over the 2,599 calls in 2021. Indianola Fire Chief Greg Chia tells KNIA News the majority of calls are EMS, with 2,202 callouts and 1,444 of those being medical transports via ambulance. Chief Chia also said 661 calls were for the fire department, 314 of those being for fires and alarm responses, and an additional 72 for hazardous materials and gas leaks. Find a full breakdown above.
