Two chances for the Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads to notch wins tonight as Moulton-Udell makes the long drive to Southeast Warren High School for a varsity double header. The girls could not take advantage of a lead in the 4th quarter in Tuesday’s loss to Murray and fell by three points 45-42. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports this is a big stretch of conference games since the pairings for the Bluegrass Conference Tournament are due out next week and they want to be seeded as high as possible.
Goff: “We’re getting closer to that conference tournament and it’s based on seeding. It’s great to have those two conference games to see where we will get seeded and see if we can get those two games.”
Melcher-Dallas is 4-6 while Moulton-Udell is 0-12 on the season and has yet to top 30 points this season while losing by an average margin of 36 points per game. On the boys side, the Saints also have a chance to put together a winning streak after a 55-50 win over Murray on Tuesday. That win stopped an eight game losing streak to the Mustangs in the series. The Moulton-Udell boys are winless in 12 games and are coming off a 90-35 loss to Moravia. Tip off is set for 6:00 at Southeast Warren High School.
