It was another contest that went down to the wire for the Indianola boys to stay perfect on the season, while the girls snapped a four-game skid as Pella Christian came to town for Hall of Fame festivities in a conference doubleheader Friday heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The #5 in 4A Indianola boys held off a late charge from the Eagles 63-60, while the Indians girls pulled away in the second half against P.C. 49-34.

It was a 9-0 run to start for the home team, before Pella Christian dominated the rest of the first half of the boys game, getting up by as much as seven before taking a 34-29 lead at the break. But much like they did against the green and white Tuesday, Indianola came firing out of the halftime gates, going on 10-0 run and eventually building a lead as large as 12 by the 4th quarter.

The Eagles would not go down quietly, as they were able to muster quite the comeback, due in part to series for the Indians that included three missed three-pointers in a row and four turnovers late in the 4th quarter, and with 30 seconds remaining, it was down to a one-point game. But Indianola held on to remain undefeated on the season and through the first half of the conference rotation.

Charlie Willmott finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds and Brayden Drea added 18 points for the league leaders; Tysen DeVries scored 24 points and Dane Geetings added 15 for the Eagles.

The opener was a test of will for the #11 in 4A Indianola girls, who had lost four games in a row to ranked opponents, and Pella Christian hung tough despite their rough start to the 2022-23 campaign. While the Eagles were able to keep things within arms reach, the home team eventually pulled away late in the third quarter.

Kendall McDaniel had 14 points to lead the Indians and Joslyn Terpstra scored 17 to pace Pella Christian.

In between games, the Indianola Hall of Fame Class of 2018 was inducted, which includes (pictured above):
