The new Pleasantville Industrial Park is starting to take shape. There are plans to build a coffee shop there and they will have fresh bakery items, hot breakfast sandwiches and a selection of coffees. Customers will be able to walk in or drive-through.

There will be nine 1/2 acre lots on the western edge for residential development. Adkins Specialized Carriers plans to start construction in the spring. Pleasantville City Administrator Joe Mrstik tells KNIA/KRLS News they are working with undisclosed partners for a new truck-stop gas station in one of the lots. 

Mrstik adds, “Just super excited, I think it’s going to be a great project, to the highway, Highway 5. I would caution your viewers to be patient. There’s going to be a lot of changes, a lot of road construction during 2023, we hope to have this completed by November of this year.”

Any business that is looking to be close to Des Moines, off of a main highway is encouraged to reach out to the City of Pleasantville.

The new construction is expected to create close to 100 jobs within five years.
