The Indianola High School inducted five new members into the Jim Garrison Hall of Fame Friday evening, the 2018 class consisting of Duncan Davitt, Ben Krapfl, Jake Marvelli, Brendan Sher, and Sydney Sickels.
Davitt – Holds the school record for single season strikeouts with 133 and single game strikeouts with 17 for the Indianola baseball team.
Krapfl – Was a member of the 6th place Indianola Boys Golf team in 2016 and 3rd place in 2017, finishing in a tie for 2nd while earning 2nd team All-State Honors.
Marvelli – Four year letter-winning golfer, was a part of the 3rd place team in 2017 and had three top-5 finishes at the State Golf Meet, including a 2nd place finish in 2017.
Sher – A four-year starter for the Indianola baseball team, named First Team All-State as a junior, led class 4A in slugging and top 5 in batting average as a senior. Named Graphic Edge Iowa High School Player of the Year.
Sickels – Four-year letter winner for the Indianola softball team, that included a second place finish at state in 2018 and named to the All-Tournament team. Named to the All-State team three times.
The Jim Garrison Hall of Fame began in 1991, with 141 athletes inducted from 51 graduating classes. An additional 30 teams and 14 staff members have been honored.
