After wrapping up the first round through the Little Hawkeye Conference with a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Dallas Center-Grimes last Friday, Pella’s basketball teams look to get back on track as they step out of conference to host Des Moines Christian tonight.

It’s a top ten matchup in the girls game, with the Dutch ranked 10th in class 4A with a 9-3 record and the Lions ranked sixth in class 3A at 11-2. Pella had a six game winning streak snapped with the loss to number one DCG, and coach Blaine Forsythe is excited for the chance to start a new one tonight.

“We saw them at a scrimmage right at the beginning of the year. I anticipate them playing a lot of zone, they have a lot of length. We need to make sure to put our girls in a good position, get back to our style of aggressive defense and play with a lot of energy and a lot of effort. We’re always excited for games at home.”

The Dutch boys have lost three of their last four and come in a 6-5, while Des Moines Christian is 9-4. Tip off of the girls game is at 6:15, and our coverage will start with pregame at 6:00 on 92.1 KRLS and the Pella Dutch Live YouTube channel with Trevor Castle and Brian Vande Lune on the call.
