Mixed precipitation is expected later today that could cause significant travel issues this evening into Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, rain, sleet, freezing rain, and snow all remain possible in Marion and Warren Counties today as a system brings over six inches of snow to most of the state along and north of Highway 30.

Locally, snowfall totals could range as low as a trace and as high as four inches, depending on the timing of temperature transitions — but regardless, roads will likely be difficult to traverse due to the wintry mix through Thursday mid-day.
