The Norwalk boys wrestlers notched four wins by fall but were also pinned seven times Thursday night in a 50-27 dual loss at Johnston. The Warriors’ record dropped to 4-5 overall while the Class 3A 7th-ranked Dragons improved to 14-4.

Johnston won nine out of 14 matches and scored bonus points in all nine, including top-ranked Jacob Helgeson’s second-period pin of 10th-ranked Dominic Tigner at 152 pounds.

Norwalk’s five victories included quick pins by third-ranked Tyler Harper at 106, 11th-ranked Donovan Card at 138 and top-ranked Maddux Borcherding-Johnson at 285. All three won by fall in 45 seconds or less. Kadan Borcherding-Johnson pinned his opponent in 2:52 at 145 pounds while Aiden Moret scored a 9-5 decision at 120.

Norwalk will wrestle again Saturday at Urbandale’s Ed Winger Invitational at 9:00 a.m.
