The Central College basketball teams begin their second round of American Rivers Conference (ARC) regular season action today with a road trip to the University of Dubuque.

The Dutch women’s squad is coming off two overtime losses, the most recent coming on Wednesday against Simpson College. The Spartans have won their last two games against Simpson and Luther and sit tied for third in the conference with Luther and Coe. 

The Central men’s team kept up their surprising start to the season by wrapping up the first slate of league play with a 7-1 conference record, following their 73-64 rivalry win over Simpson on Wednesday. Like their women’s team, the Dubuque men’s squad is tied for third place in the ARC with Loras and have won their last two games.

In their first meeting in Pella back on December 3rd, the Spartans’ won the girls contest 68-58 while the Dutch men’s team picked up a 68-58 victory.

Central’s basketball doubleheader at the Stoltz Sports Center in Dubuque can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 1:45 p.m. and followed by tip-off of the women’s game at 2 p.m.
