The Medically Oriented Gym (MOG) at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics is where people can come into a physical therapy clinic gym to exercise under medical supervision, according to Kelly Leeper, with 21st Century Rehab.

It‘s normally an older setting for clients who work on things as simple as balance, endurance or even strength, or all of the above.

Connie Jordan, who visits the MOG program said at times old age just creeps up on you, and that’s part of the reason she joined MOG. Leeper talks about MOG, “Anyone is not sure whether they should start an exercise program or if they are wanting to see if the MOG might be a good fit for them coming out we are going to have an Open House coming up here in the next month and that is a good opportunity to let people who might be interested in MOG. They can come in and check out the gym and see the machines and all the different equipment we have.”

MOG can help people maintain levels obtained through physical or occupational therapy. The Knoxville Hospital and Clinic will be having an Open House for Mog February 8 from 1-3 p.m. and you can come in and see the physical therapy clinic.
