Indianola Boys Basketball Stays Hot, Girls Fall to CCA

The #6 Indianola boys basketball team won a blowout non-conference game against Clear Creek-Amana Saturday on the road 86-53, while the #11 Indians girls fell to the #7 Clippers 47-34.

The Indians boys put on a clinic in the first half scoring 46 points, then never allowed the Clippers to get any closer as they put up another 40 in the second half as they cruised to a win. Dakota Heimbaugh was the highest of five Indianola players in double figures with 19, Jackson Overton had 17, and Brady Blake had 15.

The Indians girls had trouble finding offense outside of Emily Naughton, as she put up 19 while the rest of the team could not find the bottom of the net against a good Clippers team. The Indians fell behind in the first half, and made enough stops to potentially get back in the game but couldn’t mount the comeback.

The Indians boys are now 13-1 overall, while the girls are 7-8, and both teams play on the road at Oskaloosa on Tuesday.
