The Knoxville and Norwalk bowling teams split a dual meet at the Air Lanes Bowling Center in Des Moines on Saturday. The Knoxville boys notched their first win of the season, defeating the Warriors 2719-2615. Norwalk won the girls meet 2193-1826.

The Panther boys were led individually by two-game totals of 428 from senior Donovan Binns, 423 by freshman Troy Binns and 411 by junior Tristen Carter, who rolled the highest single-game score of the day with a 235. Donovan Binns had a high game of 225 and Troy Binns added a 221.

Norwalk was paced by senior Emerson Fels, who bowled a pair of 212 games for a 424. Sophomore Andrew Winfrey and senior Michael Wetzel added series totals of 347 and 342, respectively.

In the girls dual, Norwalk claimed the top three series scores of the day as sophomore Julia Palen totaled a 348 with a high game of 199, followed by senior Kate Desmond’s 280 and sophomore Ellery Racz with a 276.

The Knoxville girls were led by senior Jasmine Holbrook and freshman Brigette Renard, who both tallied a 270. Holbrook bowled the team’s highest single game with a 153.

The Panther girls team is now 2-5 on the season while the boys are 1-6. Their next meet is Tuesday at Pleasant Hill’s Great Escape against Bondurant-Farrar.

The Warrior girls improved to 5-4 and the boys are 4-5. They will return to action Saturday vs. Sigourney at the Keokuk County Bowl.
