Carousel Theatre is in the middle of their 58th season of bringing shows to Indianola, working towards two more performances in the spring of 2023. Carousel Theatre Board President Alex Lindsley tells KNIA News he thinks part of what has made Carousel a long-term success is the ability to bring in talented actors from not just Indianola but the surrounding communities, and the range of shows they have been able to put on.
“We really want to make sure that we are telling very interesting, very interesting or intriguing stories. We don’t want to keep relying on the same kind of stories every time. It’s really important to have that variety in what we say and how we say it. We are trying to throw in a mix of musicals, straight plays, comedies and dramas, we want to stop and make you think and maybe have something a little bit heavier, but then sprinkle in something light and fun.”
Upcoming shows for the season include the comedy Rumors, and a production of The Little Mermaid.
