Indianola High School senior Lizzy Orey was awarded a scholarship from the Greater Des Moines Partnership as announced last week, the inaugural Career Launch Scholarships. Orey will receive $1,000 towards secondary education.
The Career Launch Scholarship was created to support regional high school students in their career and educational goals while simultaneously supporting the future talent pipeline for the region.
The scholarships were given out to five students, two in Polk and Marshall Counties, and Orey was the lone recipient in Warren County. Each student plans to attend college in Iowa and are in the 11 counties the Greater Des Moines Partnership serves.
