The Marion County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. The board heard presentations from the five city librarians in the county for FY24 Funding Request as well as the IMPACT Annual Report.
The five libraries are asking for a base of $5,000 each out of $100,000 being requested, with the rest of the money divided up by a matrix that has been established. Pleasantville is hoping to receive the same amount as last year.
IMPACT gave a report that they served 1,603 individuals.
The board discussed an Advisory/Steering Committee for Marion County that is being set up for EMS. Lake Prairie Township and Summit Township Ambulance Coverage was discussed as they noted there are some issues to be ironed out for EMS service.
Also on the agenda was a discussion on the FY24 Proposed Budget Summary for the Road Department.
The board of supervisors will be meeting today at 9 a.m. as well as Thursday at 9 a.m. to discuss the budget for 2023-2024 with department heads.
