A topsy-turvy forecast for south central Iowa is expected to continue. After 1-3″ of snow this past weekend and dense fog caused traffic issues and school delays Tuesday, intermittent chances for snow continue off-and-on through this weekend, with potentially significant accumulations by this Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime high temperatures are expected to fluctuate as well, with upper teens and low 20s expected Thursday, only for a warm up Friday to near 40 in some locations, and then a major cooldown by this weekend. Wind chills near and below zero are expected to start this Sunday and continue well into the first few days in February.
