After a week off, the PCM basketball teams are back in action tonight with a home Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader vs Perry.
In the girls contest, the Mustangs improved to 8-9 overall on the season and 5-5 in league play with their 39-17 win over Greene County last Friday. Meanwhile, Perry enters the game at 4-10 overall and 2-8 in the conference following a three-game losing streak against ranked teams. In the first meeting between the schools on December 13th, PCM held off the Blue Jays in a 43-31 victory.
The Mustangs and Blue Jays boys squads have both struggled to find the win column this season, with Perry holding a slight edge in overall record at 4-11 to PCM’s 4-12 mark. In conference play, the Mustangs’ 3-7 record has them one game above the Blue Jays, who are in last place in the Heart of Iowa, at 2-8. One of Perry’s two league wins came in the back half of the doubleheader in December, when they defeated PCM 72-60.
