The Iowa Legislature approved the Educational Savings Accounts Bill earlier this week, commonly referred to as School Vouchers, which will allocate funds for students to attend private schools. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA he hopes the legislature will reflect the upcoming change by providing public schools with additional funds.
“Now moving forward, we really have to fight for supplemental state aid to make sure that we can continue to fund our public schools. Give all programs for all the students that enter our doors, not just the ones that we choose to have come through our doors. Throughout the state of Iowa there will be an impact, what that is is yet to be seen.”
