The PCM boys wrestling team continued their run of winning weekend tournaments in the month of January on Saturday, winning the Southern Iowa Classic at Fairfield.
With 202.5 team points, the Mustangs brought home the team title in three of their four Saturday tournaments held in January. PCM previously won the home invitational on January 7th and the Centerville Big Red Invitational on January 14th.
Tucker Wheeler (138 lbs.), Donovan Nickelson (182.lbs), and Kaden Clark (285 lbs.) combined to go 12-0 on the day to win the individual titles in their respective weight classes. Kaliber Fry (106 lbs.), Zach Richards (120.lbs), Remington Fry (126 lbs.), Jeffery McDanel (152 lbs.), and Finn Wilson (170 lbs.) added runners-up finishes in their weight brackets to help PCM’s team title effort.
The Mustangs return to the mats on Tuesday for their Class 2A Regional Team Dual with Davenport Assumption at Mount Vernon High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
