A major focus for the City of Indianola and Indianola Parks and Rec department over 2023 will be completing the Parks and Open Spaces Master Plan. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the city knows they need to do a better job at making sure everyone has accessible parks, and this master plan will be a big part of that.
“We really want to see our community continue to have a high quality of life. That means to have parks situated within walking distance of all of our neighborhoods, and we know we have a deficiency of parks north of Iowa St. In addition to having great parks and venues, we want to make sure we have good connectivity with trail systems between all of the parks as well. It’s going to be a great vision for our city going forward.”
