Jason Reed, Knoxville Raceway General Manager, tells KNIA/KRLS News, the 2023 Knoxville Nationals will now pay $185,000 to win up from $175,000 a year ago. Reed said the decision was made official at the Monday, Feb. 6, Marion County Fair Association Meeting.
Another increase is that the board will now pay $15,000 to start the 410 A-Feature, up from $10,000. Money was also added for pay throughout the field as $150,000 was added to the 410 Knoxville Nationals A-Main purse.
There is also an increase in the pay for the 360 Knoxville Nationals.
Reed says, “We also added some money all through the features on Saturday night. So basically Saturday night we added approximately $150,000 to the purse on the 410 Nationals. Also on the 360 Nationals we moved it up from $15,000 to win to $20,000 to win plus we’re doing the lap money, $500 per lap, so if you were to win the race and led all 30 laps, that race would pay $35,000.”
This will mark the 62nd year for the Knoxville Nationals, which are slated for August 9-12.
