The storm sewer project proposed for Conrey Street in Knoxville was discussed at the Knoxville City Council meeting Monday. It will be funded through the storm facility utility.
Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Over the last couple of years we have noticed heavy rainfalls have created some flooding in that area on South Conrey in the street.”
According to Ussery, the storm sewer is not large enough to handle the water flow in the area, with improvements that have been made. It’s a smaller project and Knoxville has posted the project with bids due February 28, while looking to approve a contract March 6.
