Four area high school girls bowling teams met at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa Friday morning for the Two Rivers Conference meet. 

In the ten-team field, the Pella girls claimed the highest finish among the four area schools with a 6th place finish, posting a team score of 2093. The Norwalk girls had a team score of 2057 to take 7th place in the meet. Pella Christian brought home an 8th place finish with a score of 2055, while Knoxville finished in 9th with a 1959 team score.

Each area school had a girl receive all-conference honors in the meet with a top-20 finish. Pella Christian senior Alexa Klaasen was the top area finisher, taking home 6th place individually with a score of 514. Norwalk sophomore Julia Palen wasn’t far behind in 7th place, bowling a 511, while Knoxville freshman Brigette Renard came in 9th place with a score of 494. Pella’s top individual finisher in the conference meet was junior Mallory Westerkamp, who finished in 19th place after bowling a 461. 

All four area schools are back in action on Monday for the State Qualifying meets. The Pella Christian and Knoxville girls compete at Dutch 200 Bowl and Grill in Pella, the Norwalk girls travel to Cardinal Lanes in Newton for their State Qualifier, and Pella’s State Qualifier is at Arrowhead Bowl in Keokuk.
