The Norwalk wrestlers will compete for state today with a home mat advantage, while the Indianola wrestling squad won’t have far to travel today as both teams compete for a state tournament spot in districts today.

Indianola currently boasts ranked wrestlers according to IAWrestle with Bowen Downey placed 2nd at 120lbs, Cael Meacham 11th at 138lbs, Jake Pontier 11th at 145lbs, AJ Pontier 7th at 160lbs, Isaiah Kellow 12th at 180lbs, and Jaxson Boyd 10th at heavyweight.

Norwalk had the most individual champions at the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament, and has state tournament hopes from ranked wrestlers at 106lbs with Tyler Harper ranked 3rd, Donovan Card 9th at 138lbs, Dominic Tigner 4th at 152lbs, and top ranked Maddux Borcherding-Johnson at heavyweight.

Other teams competing include the #1 team in Southeast Polk with 11 ranked wrestlers, and Boone and Urbandale with one ranked wrestler each along with Des Moines East, Des Moines Hoover, and Newton. Action starts today at 10am.
