The Storm women’s and men’s basketball teams have a matchup against Dubuque today with big implications in the American Rivers Conference standings.
The Storm men got a big win Wednesday over Buena Vista that vaulted them back into a conference tournament spot, and face off with the current second seeded Dubuque. The Storm fell to the Spartans 86-74 in their first matchup, where the Storm fell behind by 12 in the first half and couldn’t recover.
The Storm women are in a tie with the fourth place Spartans, and with a win combined with a Coe College loss to top placed Wartburg would put the Storm just a half-game back of the third seed. The Storm couldn’t hold on to a near 20-point lead in their last matchup against Dubuque, getting outscored in the fourth quarter 24-5 in a loss.
The games today will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Matt Kincaid on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 1:45pm, with tip-off at 2pm.
