Area bowlers competed at day two of the Two Rivers Conference championship meets Saturday, with the boys hitting the lanes in Oskaloosa.

Among area teams, Pella placed 4th in the baker team matchup with 2796 pins — including a 299 game. Norwalk was 6th at 2748, Knoxville 9th at 2697, and Pella Christian was 10th with 2000 pins.

Carter Failor of the Dutch placed 2nd overall among individual with a 721 game to earn All-Conference honors. Knoxville’s Tristen Carter was 7th with a 640 three-game score, followed by Norwalk’s Michael Wetzel (620) and Emerson Fels (585). Pella’s Anderson Schirm placed 18th at 555 pins, marking the last KNIA/KRLS area athlete in the top 20.

State qualifying meets are on the schedule for all bowling teams in Iowa Monday and Tuesday, with Knoxville’s girls and boys joining Pella Christian at 200 Dutch in the Tulip City on Monday and Tuesday, while Pella travels to Keokuk for the two-day meet. Girls will compete on Monday and the boys on Tuesday at all levels. Norwalk will travel to Newton for district meets.
