Isaiah Picard won his second straight state title in the Para 100 Freestyle Saturday, and collected another trophy in the 50 Freestyle to win a pair of championships at the University of Iowa Aquatics Center. Picard swam a 1:45.78 in the 100 Freestyle, and a 43.48 in the 50 Freestyle to earn the victory.

The Indians 200 Medley Relay Team of Henry Picard, Chance Yates, Ethan Russell, and Billy Shepherd finished in 22nd with a time of 1:43.02, and the same quartet finished in 20th in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:31.56.

Indianola Wrestling Qualifies Nine to State

The Indianola wrestling team is sending nine individuals to the state meet at Wells Fargo Arena this next week after the athletes had top three finishes in the qualifying meet at Norwalk High School Saturday.

Bowen Downey at 120lbs, Jake Pontier at 145lbs, and AJ Pontier at 160lbs all cruised to first place finishes to qualify, Ryan Young at 126lbs and Dax Clatt at 170lbs fell in the first place match but won the second place match to qualify, and Jensen Dyer at 113lbs, Isaiah Kellow at 182lbs, and Gabby King at 220lbs all took home third place finishes.

The state meet is this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
