The Knoxville Wrestling Squad had a goal of at least five wrestlers to the State Meet out of Saturday’s class 2A District meet and the Panthers got that goal accomplished equaling the record for the most State Qualifiers in one season when the Panthers also sent five to State in 1998. Luke Spaur at 138 pounds, Chaz Graves at 152 pounds, and Daniel Gorskikh at 160 pounds all qualified as District champions while Wayne Johnston for the 2nd straight year had to wrestle his way into a runner-up spot at 182 pounds, and Trenton Kingery at 220 pounds, also had to endure a wrestle back qualified as well. The PCM Wrestlers qualified one wrestler as 138 pounder Tucker Wheeler got in as a runner-up, seven Mustangs finished in 3rd place, just one spot from qualifying. The State Meet begins this Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena.
