The PCM Girls Basketball Squad’s class 3A regional was short-lived as the Mustangs fell to Mid-Prairie on Saturday night 67-49 on kniakrls.com KNIA3. The Mustangs were within one point with 2:00 left in the 1st half, but the Golden Hawks ended the first 16:00 on an 8-0 run to take a nine point lead into halftime, and PCM could only trim the lead to seven the rest of the way. Mid-Prairie shot the ball incredibly well and always got a shot when needed. Coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez told KNIA/KRLS Sports, Mid-Prairie was also quick to stop a Mustangs run.
Allison-Rodriguez: “Every time we made a run they just hit shots. Their shooting percentage must have been out of this world, and we played hard and left it all on the court, anybody who was in this gym knows we played hard tonight.”
Addison Steenhoek led the Mustangs with 18 points, while Tori Lindsay had 12. P-C-M finishes 11-11 on the season.
