The Indianola High School Jazz Bands competed at a pair of events over the weekend. The Jazz 1 band placed 2nd out of 12 in the class 4A Morningside Jazz Festival in Sioux City. Solo awards were given to:

Kael Christensen – Trombone
Sam Burns- Trumpet
Cannon Roberson – Drum Set
Erik Jensen – Bari Sax
Jakob Kjellberg- Tenor Sax

The Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 Bands also competed at the SE Polk JazzFest. Jazz 1 placed 3rd out of 7 bands in class 4A, with the trumpets selected as the outstanding trumpet section. Solo awards were given to:

Erik Jensent – Bari Sax
Kael Christensen – Trombone
Jakob Kjellberg – Tenor Sax
Simon Gilfanov – Bass
Soren Christensen – Guitar
Sam Burns – Trumpet
Keegan Tilley – Bass Trombone

The Jazz 2 Band was also honored with solo awards:

Ava Eastman – Tenor Sax
Max Green – Tenor Sax
Kyle Roberson – Guitar
Noah Kjellberg – Trumpet
Tate Dales – Alto Sax
Cailey Baker – Trombone
Will Kromer-Ross – Vibes
Ryne Lindsey – Drum Set
Lizzy Orey – Flute
