The lone representative for the PCM boys wrestling team at the State Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena, Tucker Wheeler begins his pursuit of a State Title today. 

The 14-seed in the Class 2A 138-pound division, Wheeler begins the tournament against another freshman in 19th-seeded Aiden Hippen of Clear Lake. The winner of that match advances to take on 3rd-seeded Tate O’Shea of Keokuk. Wheeler, who boasts a 40-12 record, says his goal is to make it to Championship Saturday. 

“I’m really hoping to place in the place top five or higher so hopefully I make to the finals, but you never know.”

Wheeler’s State Tournament run and the first round of action begins at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
