Despite a great effort Tuesday night, the Pella Christian girls basketball team’s season came to an end with a 60-46 loss in the second round of the Class 2A regionals against undefeated and #3 ranked Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a game heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

The Eagles’ defense limited the Rockets to just one field goal in the opening period, as they built up a 9-3 lead at the end of the quarter. The lead was short lived however, as E-B-F’s offense erupted for 24 points in the second quarter to grab a 27-16 lead at halftime. Despite fouls adding up in the second half, Pella Christian pulled within three midway through the third quarter, but the Rockets pushed the lead back up to 43-35 entering the final quarter. The Eagles continued to battle in the fourth quarter but connected on just 28% of shots in the period as their season came to an end.

Pella Christian was led in scoring by Faith Kacmarynski with 13 points in the loss. Seniors Anna Eveland (8), Joslyn Terpstra (5), and Karlie Anderson (3) combined for 16 points in their final game in an Eagles uniform. Pella Christian finishes the season with a 5-19 record.
