Knoxville pulled away in the 4th quarter to send a pesky Newton packing in round one of the class 4A Girls Regional on Wednesday 59-44 heard live on 95.3 KNIA. Knoxville stretched the lead out to seven by halftime and had it to double figures heading into the 4th quarter, when the Panthers went on a 17-7 run to put the game away. Knoxville Coach Matt Ritchhart told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was tough to play Newton after they played just 11 days before.

Ritchhart : We knew what they were going to run, and they knew what we were going to run, and we both have access to the video. It was hard to know if they were going to face guard Emma or go man. They have some success against us in Wells Fargo going man, than they did tonight.”

Hannah Dunkin shook off tough night shooting to post 16 points, ten in the 4th quarter, while sister Emma scored 13. Knoxville is now 15-7 and will travel to Carlisle on Saturday to play in the class 4A regional semi-final.
