The Indianola Fire Department was recently awarded two grants that will assist the department in performing their duties and training opportunities.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant is worth $98,000, and will be used to purchase four Stryker Power Load systems, an unassisted lift device that can load a cot carrying a patient into the back of an ambulance.

The department was also awarded a grant from the Warren County Philanthropic Partnership that allowed the department to add a forcible entry door to their training.
