Thursday’s snowstorm forced the postponement of Norwalk’s boys basketball game at Dowling Catholic, but the two teams will play tonight with the varsity contest starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Class 4A sixth-ranked Warriors take a 13-game winning streak and 17-3 record into their regular season finale after rallying past ADM on Tuesday. Dowling, which plays in the rugged Central Iowa Metro League, is 9-11 overall.
The Maroons and Warriors share two common opponents on the season in Des Moines Lincoln and Ames. Both teams defeated Lincoln by nearly identical scores – Norwalk winning 63-55 and Dowling 62-55 on Tuesday. The Warriors beat Ames 53-49 and the Maroons lost to the Little Cyclones 61-56 last Saturday.
Following tonight’s game, Norwalk will have a week off before hosting Sioux City West or Sioux City North in a Class 4A, Substate 1 semifinal on Friday, February 24.
